We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead the delivery of a complex and high-profile groundwater remediation project at our Mount Isa operations. This role represents a rare opportunity to drive environmental outcomes that align with long-term management, stakeholder expectations, and regulatory compliance.
As a key member of the Surface Engineering team, you will be responsible for the management and execution of the groundwater remediation project, covering final technical design confirmation, contractor engagement, procurement, construction, commissioning, and final handover. You'll bring strong project leadership, engineering discipline knowledge (civil / mechanical), and environmental awareness to ensure this critical initiative is delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with business and legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the project management, planning, coordination, and execution of the groundwater remediation project.
- Manage the project scope, budget, and schedule to meet key milestones.
- Oversee final design and engineering, development of key scope of work packages, ensuring fit-for-purpose solutions aligned with environmental remediation strategies.
- Engage with internal stakeholders, discipline leads, environmental specialists, and external regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage contractor performance on-site and ensure all work is executed safely, and to specification.
- Report on project progress, risks, and controls to senior management.
- Drive technical excellence while actively managing scope change, procurement activities, and quality assurance.
About You:
- Degree qualified in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, with RPEQ (or working towards).
- Proven project delivery experience, ideally on infrastructure, civil, mechanical, or environmental remediation projects.
- Strong working knowledge of project management frameworks, risk management, and contract execution.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills, with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
- Familiarity with environmental compliance or remediation in a mining, industrial or utility setting is advantageous.
- Prior experience in large scale pumping and piping projects
