Electrical Supervisors

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to support the delivery of surface and underground capital projects for a Tier 1 Mining Operation in Queensland.

With the underground mine expansion progressing, this role will play a key part in delivering critical electrical infrastructure projects including:

• Installation and commissioning of underground substations

• Medium and high voltage distribution infrastructure

• Surface-to-underground power reticulation

• Electrical works associated with a new fresh air raise and ventilation fans

• Supporting infrastructure across both surface and underground environments

This is a hands-on leadership role within the capital delivery team, responsible for safe execution, contractor coordination, and ensuring works are delivered to scope, schedule, and quality standards.

Contract & Roster

• Contractor Position

• Initial 12-month+ (strong likelihood of 2-year capital program)

• 8 days on / 6 days off FIFO roster

• Embarkment Locations: Cairns, Townsville, Brisbane

• Direct flights to site

• Meals and accommodation provided

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Project / Construction Lead, you will:

• Supervise and coordinate electrical construction activities across capital projects (surface & underground)

• Lead crews and contractors to ensure safe, compliant and efficient execution of works

• Ensure strict adherence to site safety, environmental and statutory requirements

• Drive execution in line with approved detailed job plans and project schedules

• Manage work orders and track progress using SAP and reporting systems

• Participate in planning and coordination meetings with engineering, operations and project teams

• Provide technical oversight across medium and high voltage installations

• Monitor quality of installation, testing and commissioning activities

• Identify risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies

• Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement

About You

You are a safety-driven electrical leader with strong underground project delivery experience within mining capital environments.

You will demonstrate:

• Minimum 5+ years experience in a mining electrical environment

• 5+ years in a supervisory or leading hand capacity

• Proven experience supervising underground electrical capital works

• Experience delivering medium and high voltage infrastructure projects

• Trade-qualified Electrician (4-year accredited apprenticeship or equivalent)

• Queensland Electrical Licence (or ability to obtain)

• Strong working knowledge of statutory compliance in underground mining

• Experience using SAP and Microsoft Office for work management and reporting

• Strong problem-solving capability across equipment, materials, methods and site coordination

• Ability to lead diverse teams and contractors in high-risk environments

Additional HV switching, testing & commissioning experience will be highly regarded.
