Structural Project Lead

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Structural Remediation Project Lead to manage end-to-end delivery of structural integrity and remediation projects across the surface processing plant for a Tier 1 Mining Operator.

This role will manage a portfolio of structural upgrade and remediation works including:

• Steel structure repairs and strengthening

• Corrosion remediation programs

• Concrete repair and rehabilitation

• Structural modifications and compliance upgrades

• Processing plant infrastructure improvements

You will be responsible for full lifecycle project delivery, from scoping and planning through execution, quality assurance, and handover, within an operational processing plant environment.

Contract & Roster

• Initial 12-month contract aligned to an ongoing remediation program, likely 2 years

• 8 days on / 6 days off FIFO roster

• Direct flights to site from: Cairns, Townsville or Brisbane

• Meals and accommodation provided

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Capital Projects Lead, you will:

• Manage structural remediation projects from concept through to completion

• Develop scopes of work, cost estimates, schedules, and execution strategies

• Coordinate engineering, inspections, and condition assessments

• Engage and manage contractors for structural and civil works

• Oversee site execution to ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence

• Ensure compliance with site safety, statutory and engineering standards

• Manage project budgets, forecasting, and cost controls

• Monitor structural integrity risks and prioritise remediation activities

• Lead stakeholder communication with operations, maintenance and engineering teams

• Ensure QA/QC documentation, inspection records, and handover requirements are met

About You

You are an experienced structural or civil project professional with strong remediation and brownfield project delivery experience within heavy industry or mining.

You will demonstrate:

• 8+ years experience delivering structural or civil projects in mining or industrial environments

• Proven experience managing structural steel and concrete remediation programs

• Experience working within live processing plant environments

• Engineering qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent experience)

• Strong understanding of corrosion management, structural integrity and asset life extension

• Experience managing contractors and multidisciplinary site teams

• Strong budgeting, scheduling, and project controls capability

• Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office systems

• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Experience in operational processing plants and brownfield upgrade environments will be highly regarded.
