About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Lettings Accounts Assistant to join their growing Cape Town team. This role provides essential financial and administrative support to a UK-based lettings department, ensuring accurate processing of accounts and compliance with UK property and financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process rental payments, deposits, and refunds for UK residential properties
- Maintain and reconcile landlord and tenant accounts in accordance with UK standards
- Prepare and issue monthly landlord statements and financial reports
- Assist with arrears management and liaise with the UK team regarding outstanding payments
- Process supplier invoices and ensure timely and accurate payments
- Respond to financial queries from landlords, tenants, and internal stakeholders
- Support month-end and year-end accounting processes
- Ensure compliance with our clients internal policies and UK financial regulations
Skills & Requirements
- Previous experience in property accounts or a similar finance role
(UK property experience is highly advantageous) - Strong numerical and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote UK-based team
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Knowledge of UK lettings processes and regulations is preferred but not essential
Qualifications
- Matric certificate (required)
- Finance-related qualification (advantageous)
Working Hours
- Full-time, Monday to Friday
- Hours aligned with UK business hours
