About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Lettings Accounts Assistant to join their growing Cape Town team. This role provides essential financial and administrative support to a UK-based lettings department, ensuring accurate processing of accounts and compliance with UK property and financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process rental payments, deposits, and refunds for UK residential properties
  • Maintain and reconcile landlord and tenant accounts in accordance with UK standards
  • Prepare and issue monthly landlord statements and financial reports
  • Assist with arrears management and liaise with the UK team regarding outstanding payments
  • Process supplier invoices and ensure timely and accurate payments
  • Respond to financial queries from landlords, tenants, and internal stakeholders
  • Support month-end and year-end accounting processes
  • Ensure compliance with our clients internal policies and UK financial regulations

Skills & Requirements

  • Previous experience in property accounts or a similar finance role
    (UK property experience is highly advantageous)
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote UK-based team
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of UK lettings processes and regulations is preferred but not essential

Qualifications

  • Matric certificate (required)
  • Finance-related qualification (advantageous)

Working Hours

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Hours aligned with UK business hours
