Job Overview: Launch your career or transition from service with a hands-on role in the booming fiber optic industry, supporting a major data center project in Ashburn, VA. Were seeking motivated Entry-Level Fiber Optic Technicians. If you are former military transitioning out or recent college grads new to the workforce (0-2 years experience) we want you to join our crew. This is your chance to master high-speed connectivity for AI-driven builds, with training to pull, patch, and test fibers. No experience? No problem we will guide you with FOA CFOT certification and hands-on skills to shine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in pulling and patching fiber optic cables, learning to match fiber types and materials under supervision.
- Support basic testing with tools like OTDR to ensure system performance, with guidance on quality checks.
- Help install connectors and cabling infrastructure, following safety and precision standards.
- Work alongside team leads during build phases, contributing to on-time progress with a can-do attitude.
- Participate in equipment checks and maintenance tasks, keeping safety gear (harnesses, helmets) ready.
Qualifications:
- 0-2 years experience (or none/new grads and vets welcome to learn on the job).
- FOA Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) a plus.
- Basic tech interest (e.g., wiring, networking) or military MOS (SIGINT 98C/35S slicing skills a bonus).
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, work in tight spaces, work in the elements, and handle 10-12 hour shifts during peaks.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transport for Ashburn-area sites.
Compensation & Perks:
- Pay: $18-$20/hr base ($40,392-$44,880 annually).
