Job Title: Provincial Health Promotion officer
Location: Paktiya, Ghazni, Balkh, Faryab, Baghlan, Badkhshan, Parwan, Zabul, Wardak, Kandahar, Nimroz, Badghis, Nangarhar, Laghman, Kunar and kapisa
Sex: Female/Male
Nationality: Afghan
Duration: One year (extendable)
Qualification and Experience:
- Afghan National
- At least Bachelors degree in any of the relevant areas: Public health, Medical doctor, Nursing, Pharmacy, Stomatology postgraduate degree is an asset.
- 2 3 years of working experience in the public health at least one year experience in community mobilization, health communication and or health promotion.
- Strong Communication, coordination and interpersonal skills
- Excellent analytical and reporting skills
- Strong ability and skills in MS Office specially (Excel, Word and Power Point).
- Fluency in speaking local languages (Pashto and or Dari) and ability to communicate in English
- Ability to travel to districts and other provinces.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in design and lead implementation of HP intervention in their respective province.
- Coordinate all HPs activities such as SBC, RCCE, CD+ and other at the provincial, districts and community levels.
- Attendance in demand generation committee (DGC) and actively support the relevant activities.
- Coordination with relevant provincial department for immunization awareness activities.
- Providing technical assistance and support to different health programs and departments in implementation of health promotion and community engagement programs and focused on immunization activities.
- Support social process and motivation regarding to immunization activities.
- Advocate with religious leaders, local influencers and other decision and policy makers for supporting the HP/SBC interventions.
- Design and conduct health communication campaigns for different programs including health and nutrition, etc. as per approved guidelines and annual plans at provincial levels.
- Plan and coordinate capacity building workshops on immunization health promotion for the partners, PHD, health facility staff, and community leaders.
- Conduct regular supervision and monitoring of HP interventions.
- Asses need and distribute communication materials to the HFs, community and or the target audiences.
- Attendance in vaccine campaign and make success history and response to hesitancy and refusal.
- Coordination and regular reporting to NEPI regarding communication activities.
- Develop and implement health promotion, quarterly and monthly plans for their assigned province.
- Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual activity reports and other ad-hoc required reports to HPD and NEPI.
- Any other assignment given by the health promotion department.
