Job Title: SBC Extender

Role and responsibility:
Support SBC intervention implementation according to AWP.
- SBC extenders, under the supervision of SBC officers and in close coordination with outposts/provincial coordinators, will support the SBC program implementation by providing support to the CEP/SBC integrated partners in all the provinces by sustaining the coordination with line departments and key stakeholders until the complete presence of partners is ensured.
- Work closely with UNICEF Zonal office and outposts in building the capacity of the CEP/SBC integrated partners on planning and implementation of CEP/SBC interventions to ensure a smooth transition and taking over by selected partners.
Emergency preparedness and response:
- Participate in EPR and related meetings as and when required.
- Perform monitoring visits using standardized form
- Support emergency activities including supplies training and data collection as requested.
- Assist zonal SBC team in preparing and sending monthly emergency data in the monthly tracking sheet/CEP/SBC information management system.
Support UNICEF regional SBC team and partners in Capacity building of partners and key stakeholders:
Support UNICEF regional SBC team in building the capacity of social mobilizers, M&E and project staff of CEP/SBC partners on CEP/SBC interventions, and AAP.
- Extend support to partners and extenders managed by other sections in building their capacity and ensue SBC integration at field level.
- Support the training and orientation of key stakeholders and networks (religious leaders, CHWs etc.) by partners.
- Support partners in the training/orientation of Social Media activities and monitor their activities during social media campaigns for promoting key integrated behaviors, as and when required.
- Support the cross sectoral initiates (TAVOON, Qahramanan) and other activities by UNICEF LTA holders in the region.
- Facilitate and support in building the capacity of Qahramanan (Youth network) and ensure their activities are coordinated and integrated with related SBC interventions by partners in the region.
- Support and facilitate the activities under TAVOON initiatives, including but not limited to, building the capacity of FBOs and religious leaders in the region on UNICEF mandate, basic child rights and sensitizing them in creating enabling environment for SBC intervention.
- Ensure coordination between programs, FBOs and religious leaders and the Department of Religious Affairs.
Support/facilitate the AAP interventions and the Community Engagement and feedback centers (CEFCs) activities:
- Visit the CEFCs and provide on job support to the staff of these centers.
- Conduct exit surveys at service provision platforms by UNICEF (health facilities, CFS, WFGS, Distributions etc.) and share reports with ZO SBC for follow up and required actions by program sections.
- Conduct consultations with stakeholders to improve the feedback mechanism put in place and identify the most relevant communication channels preferred by the communities
- Support Collect feedback from community during field visits/monitoring.
.Support and strengthen the interagency referral mechanism in close coordination with partners. - Provide information about availability and utilization of services to communities.
- rack any rumors in community and share with partners, ZO and Outposts for necessary actions required.
Co-facilitate conducting mass campaigns:
- Provide support and coordinate among different stakeholders to roll out mass campaigns during outbreaks and health emergencies.
- Closely work with provincial level Information and Culture departments to roll out local level campaign by using folk and local media.
- Support in mapping of UNICEF-supported interventions at the district level and ensure its dissemination to all stakeholders.
- Support the planning, implementation and monitoring of the capacity building program for stakeholders in accountability to affected populations and the feedback mechanism.
Reporting and documentation of interventions:
- Prepare and submit monthly work plans and progress reports against the work plans.
- Document best practices and share with partners for cross learning.
Monitoring of interventions and coordination: - Monitor SBC interventions by partners especially in hard-to-reach areas/districts across the region.
- Ensure local coordination and collaboration with key actors (s) such as the de-facto authority, SBC partners, CSOs, FBOs, UNICEF outposts/provincial coordinator and others.
- Provide monitoring support to the media campaigns by partners.
- Facilitate/support PV and FMV as instructed by supervisors and according to work plan and ad hoc using standardized forms.
- Follow up the recommendations with partners, outposts/provincial coordinators which arise from monitoring visits.
Minimum Qualification and Experience:- Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields is required: social and Behavioral science, public health, sociology, anthropology, psychology, education, communication, public relations, or another relevant technical field 2 year of experience.

Experience working in a humanitarian project is an asset
Two years of work experience in areas of Community engagement, social mobilization, advocacy, and capacity building programs and evidence generation in the local setting is preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
Analytical capacity and experience in project planning, implementation, monitoring and coordination
Experience in community mobilization and sensitization
Fluency in local languages is mandatory.
Language Requirements:
Ability to read, write and speak local languages (Dari and Pushto) and English
