We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Bookkeeper to support our clients financial operations. This role requires accuracy, confidentiality, and strong organisational skills, as youll be responsible for end-to-end accounting tasks, reconciliations, reporting, and client communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Secure and maintain client financial information.
  • Record financial transactions in accounting software.
  • Process receipts and payments efficiently.
  • Manage debtor and creditor accounts, including reconciliations.
  • Conduct outbound calls for receivables management and handle inbound creditor enquiries.
  • Prepare ledgers, bank reconciliations, trial balances, and financial statements.
  • Investigate and reconcile financial discrepancies.
  • Generate weekly cash flow reports.
  • Maintain accurate working papers and supporting documents.
  • Handle ad hoc tasks such as completing forms, creating credit accounts, managing applications, and updating internal databases.
  • Prepare and verify payments, ensuring correct documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with BAS, PAYG, and superannuation obligations.
  • Prepare performance reports as directed.

Minimum Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Australian accounting software (e.g., Xero, ATO Portal, ASIC).
  • Degree qualified in Accounting or Finance; CPA qualification is an advantage.
  • Strong experience liaising with directors, banks, creditors, debtors, and staff.
  • High attention to detail with error-free, professional outputs.
  • Excellent understanding of financial compliance and company procedures.
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information.
  • Assertive yet consultative communication style.
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Team player with strong collaboration skills.
  • High initiative and process-improvement mindset.
  • Strong time management skills, able to meet deadlines under pressure.
