We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate to join our growing practice. Reporting directly to a Partner, you will play a pivotal role in managing a specialised practice area, leading matters end-to-end, and contributing to the firms strategic growth.
About the Role
As a Senior Associate, you will independently manage large-scale, complex legal matters involving multiple stakeholders while providing strategic oversight, leadership, and commercial insight. You will work closely with Partners and junior lawyers to deliver exceptional client outcomes and uphold the highest professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
Legal & File Management

Run complex matters autonomously from commencement to resolution

Draft high-quality legal documents and written advice

Liaise with clients, barristers, experts, and opposing counsel

Manage court processes and maintain accurate court diaries

Ensure compliance with internal policies, cost disclosure requirements, and regulatory obligations

Participate in file reviews and peer reviews
Leadership & Mentorship

Supervise, mentor, and develop junior lawyers and support staff

Review and settle work completed by junior team members

Conduct performance reviews and provide real-time feedback

Support recruitment activities including interviewing candidates
Business Development

Contribute to tenders, proposals, and marketing initiatives

Build and maintain strong client relationships

Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities

Attend industry events and proactively grow your professional network
Financial & Billing Management

Oversee monthly billing processes

Monitor receivables and disbursements
-
Achieve financial KPIs and departmental targets
Client Management

Deliver clear, strategic, and commercially sound legal advice

Manage client expectations effectively

Handle complaints and dispute resolution professionally

Uphold strict client confidentiality
Compliance & Reporting

Ensure compliance with the Legal Profession Act and Solicitors Conduct Rules

Prepare reports for Partners

Maintain high standards of file management and regulatory compliance
About You
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor of Laws (LLB or equivalent)
-
Admitted as a Lawyer in Australia
-
Current Practising Certificate
-
Minimum 5 years post-admission experience (preferred)

Strong expertise in a specialised area of law
