Junior Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support an Australian accounting firm. This role involves bookkeeping, compliance support, and preparation of financial and tax workpapers, working closely with an onshore team and following structured processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare BAS/IAS workpapers and reconciliations
• Reconcile GST, PAYG-W, payroll, and general ledger accounts
• Assist with STP review and lodgements
• Prepare year-end workpapers, schedules, and depreciation entries
• Organise supporting documents for review
• Assist with FBT and other tax matters (Div 7A, CGT, GST, Payroll Tax)

Requirements

• Graduate accountant with 1–2 years experience
• Exposure to Australian accounting/tax preferred
• Knowledge of GST, BAS, PAYG, and payroll an advantage
• Proficient in MS Excel; Xero experience a plus
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills
• Able to manage deadlines and work well in a team
