QS / Commercial Lead – Construction & Engineering

ProFleet Engineering is a growing engineering and construction services company delivering complex projects across Ireland and Europe. As part of our continued expansion, we are seeking a QS / Commercial Lead to strengthen and lead our commercial function from our Co. Cork office.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to take ownership of commercial performance across multiple projects while working closely with senior management, project teams, and clients.

The Role

As QS / Commercial Lead, you will be responsible for the commercial leadership, cost control, and contractual management of construction and engineering projects from pre-contract through to final account.

You will play a key role in protecting margins, managing risk, and supporting the successful delivery of projects across Ireland and Europe.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the commercial management of construction and engineering projects
Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
Oversee subcontract procurement, commercial negotiations, and payments
Manage interim valuations, variations, claims, and final accounts
Provide commercial input during tendering and project planning stages
Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks
Support and guide junior commercial team members where applicable
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and senior leadership
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures

Requirements

Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Engineering, or related discipline
Construction and engineering background is essential
Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial best practice
Proven ability to manage project finances and commercial performance
Confident communicator with strong negotiation skills
Ability to work across multiple projects and stakeholders
Eligible to work in Ireland

Salary & Experience

Less than 5 Years Experience
Salary: €70,000 – €80,000
Suitable for an ambitious QS ready to step into a commercial leadership role
Opportunity for progression within a growing engineering business

5+ Years Experience
Salary: €95,000 – €105,000
Experienced QS / Commercial professional with project ownership experience
Increased responsibility across commercial strategy and decision-making.
