Position: Carbon & Stainless Pipe Fitter
Location: Munster, Ireland.
Start Date: Q4 2025
The Carbon & Stainless Steel Pipe Fitter is responsible for the installation, assembly, maintenance, and repair of piping systems constructed from carbon steel and stainless steel materials. The role requires the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, isometric sketches, and piping specifications to ensure accurate fabrication and installation. The Pipe Fitter must work to the highest standards of quality and safety, delivering reliable piping systems for critical industries such as Pharmaceuticals, Data Centres, and Oil & Gas projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate, install, and repair carbon steel and stainless steel piping systems.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and isometric sketches.
- Measure, cut, thread, bend, and weld or bolt pipes to specifications.
- Align and secure pipes, valves, fittings, and supports according to design.
- Conduct hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure tests to verify system integrity.
- Collaborate with welders, engineers, and other trades on site.
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols and quality standards.
- Inspect tools and equipment, ensuring proper use and maintenance.
Required Certifications & Training:
- FÁS Trade Certificate (Pipefitting or equivalent recognised qualification)
- Abrasive Wheels Certification
- ECITB (Engineering Construction Industry Training Board) Certification
- NVQ (Level 3 or equivalent in Pipefitting/Engineering Construction)
- Manual Handling Certification
- Working at Heights Certification
- IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) License
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years experience in Pharmaceuticals, Data Centres, or Oil & Gas projects is essential.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of carbon and stainless steel pipefitting practices.
- Ability to work to tight tolerances and specifications.
- Skilled in using pipefitting tools and equipment safely.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong focus on quality, accuracy, and health & safety compliance.
