JOB RESPONSIBILITIES-

Registered Nurse Manager - Post-Anesthesia Care Unit

RN MGR - PACU

Full-Time

Registered Nurse Manager candidates for the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit will have the following job responsibilities:

  • Manages the daily operations of the Pre and Post surgery including the Preop/PAT/PACU/Endo schedule, staffing, manages productivity and monitors use of premium labor
  • Maintains the flow of the surgical schedule using staff, equipment and supplies appropriately
  • Maintains oversight of the monthly staff schedule to maintain adequate staffing levels
  • Acts as an effective steward of resources, monitoring and improving supply management and process improvement initiatives
  • Analyze and report statistical data for the peri-operative service line
  • Active member of performance improvement activities and ensures adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Meets and maintains risk management best practices for Surgical Services
  • Protects the rights of the patient, the surgical staff and the facility by providing legal and ethical healthcare by exhibiting ethical conduct and a clear understanding of legal guidelines
  • Assumes responsibility for maintain a high level of clinical expertise and adapts to new information, technology and changing trends in perioperative nursing practice
  • Maintains and develops effective inter-departmental relationships
  • Owner of environment of care standards and updates for surgery department
  • Participates in staff development/evaluation of competency, performance reviews, counseling.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS-

Registered Nurse Manager - Post-Anesthesia Care Unit

RN MGR - PACU

Full-Time

Registered Nurse Manager candidates for the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit must meet the following minimum job qualifications:

EXPERIENCE

  • Required: Minimum of two (2) years of recent department-specific experience
  • Preferred: Charge nurse, supervisory expertise in surgical services

EDUCATION

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing, Masters preferred

LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION

  • Registered Nurse with current Virginia RN license.
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association or CPR through American Red Cross
