JOB RESPONSIBILITIES-

Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

RN - L&D

Full-Time

Registered Nurse candidates for the Labor and Delivery Department will have the following job responsibilities:

  • Performs and documents basic admission, initial assessment at regular intervals per department procedures and guidelines and according to patient condition.
  • Recognizes basic abnormal findings during ongoing assessment and seeks appropriate assistance.
  • Identifies signs and symptoms of patients with similar diagnosis based on standards of care with assistance.
  • Utilizes resources to identify, prioritize, and document patient problems, needs or diagnosis by analysis of subjective and objective data.
  • Documents and implements plan of care based on assessment according to standards, assists with revision as needed.
  • Communicates plan of care and desired outcomes to the patient, family, and other members for the care team.
  • Recognizes the importance of cost containment in delivery of patient care.
  • Implements physician orders in accordance with the nurse policies and Nurse Practice Act
  • Administers and documents medication and therapies according to established policy and procedure
  • Organizes time and workload on patient care priorities with assistance.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS-

Full-Time

Registered Nurse candidates for the Labor and Delivery Department must meet the following minimum job qualifications:

  • Education


    • Degree from an accredited School of Nursing required
    • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred
    • Additional preferred education: acute care perinatal nursing.

    Experience


    • Three years RN experience required: Labor & Deliver or postpartum (LDRP) acute care nursing experience within the last 10 years. Labor & Delivery or postpartum acute care CNA experience, 30 CEUs in perinatal nursing within the last year, 200 hours perinatal clinical experience within the last two years and/or a formal perinatal training program within the last two years may substitute for some of all of this requirement OR successful completion of an approved training course/orientation and standard competencies within six months of hire.
    • Preferred: Bilingual Spanish

    Credentials


    • Required: State of Oregon nursing license
    • Required Upon Hire: Basic Life Support
    • Required: ACLS and NRP at date of hire.
    • Required: AHWONN intermediate Fetal Monitoring within six months of hire, renew every three years.

Compensation: $ 47.40-74.48/hour
