Our client is a well-established company that plays a key role in shaping the future of the energy industry. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Accounting Subsidiaries to lead the accounting team and oversee the accounting processes of 12-15 subsidiaries.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the monthly reconciliation processes, reviewing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the implementation of new projects. This leadership role emphasizes mentoring team members and driving the development of accounting policies and procedures within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Consolidation & Coordination Ensuring the accurate and timely consolidation of financial statements across subsidiaries, aligning with corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Accounting Oversight Supervising the recording of financial transactions, including ledger postings post-transition to ERP.
  • Annual Reporting & Consolidation Packages Preparing and coordinating financial data for subsidiary annual reports and group consolidation submissions.
  • Audit Support Assisting in external audits, providing accurate financial data, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • ERP System Integration Supporting the implementation and optimization of D365 for financial consolidation and reporting.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Policy Alignment Ensuring subsidiary accounting practices adhere to corporate policies and assisting in policy updates as needed.

Candidate Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Masters preferred).
  • At least five years of experience in a similar role, ideally within a multinational environment.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong expertise in local and international accounting standards (IFRS, Slovene GAAP).
  • Solid understanding of tax legislation and basic corporate and contractual law.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Fluent English skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong problem-solving and change management capabilities, with a proactive approach to process improvements.
  • Detail-oriented, accurate, and professional in team collaboration and stakeholder communication.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and manage cross-functional relationships.
  • Positive attitude, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
