Linux Systems Consultant

Key Responsibilities

• Support the administration and maintenance of Linux-based systems across multiple environments
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues in a timely manner
• Assist with system upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities
• Contribute to automation and scripting to improve operational efficiency
• Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams (DevOps, networking, application teams)
• Participate in incident management and root cause analysis
• Maintain clear and structured technical documentation

Required Experience & Skills

• 2+ years of experience in Linux system administration or a related role
• Hands-on experience with at least one major Linux distribution (e.g., SUSE, Red Hat)
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls)
• Experience with shell scripting (Bash); exposure to Python is an advantage
• Familiarity with system monitoring tools and log analysis
• Basic knowledge of virtualization and/or container technologies (e.g., Docker) is a plus
• Exposure to automation tools (e.g., Ansible) is beneficial
• Understanding of IT security fundamentals
