Our Client, a leader in the renewable energy investment banking sector, is seeking a dynamic and motivated Investment Banking Associate to join their Renewable Energy M&A team. This role is designed for a professional who is passionate about the renewable energy industry and possesses a strong background in finance, particularly in M&A, capital markets, project finance, tax equity, and highly leveraged/mezzanine transactions. Ideal candidates should have 3-4 years experience in energy transition investment banking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute financial analysis, modeling, and valuation for renewable energy, energy storage, and green chemistry transactions
  • Prepare pitch materials and transaction documents for capital raising and M&A mandates
  • Conduct detailed industry research and financial analysis to support deal origination efforts
  • Assist in developing and managing client relationships across the low-carbon ecosystem
  • Create detailed financial models for project finance transactions, including tax equity structures, debt facilities, and mezzanine capital arrangements
  • Support due diligence processes for buy-side and sell-side transactions
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to structure creative capital solutions for emerging clean energy technologies
  • Contribute to industry thought leadership initiatives to strengthen our client's market position

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of investment banking experience, with demonstrable exposure to renewable energy, energy storage, green chemistry, or related sectors
  • Strong financial modeling skills with experience in project finance structures
  • Excellent understanding of energy markets, renewable technologies, and decarbonization trends
  • Superior analytical capabilities and attention to detail
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated with a passion for accelerating the energy transition

Compensation

  • Base salary range: $175,000 - $225,000
