Phlebotomist

Title: Phlebotomist

Type: local contract

Hours: 40 hours weekly, 11pm to 7am, weekends and holidays required

Location: Cape May, NJ

Dates: June 29 to September 13

Responsibilities

* Perform venipuncture and capillary collections on patients of all ages

* Collect specimens in ED and inpatient units based on priority

* Ensure positive patient identification and accurate labeling at bedside

* Handle and transport specimens per laboratory policy

* Communicate effectively with nursing and lab staff regarding issues or delays

Required Qualifications

* Minimum 1 year recent hospital-based phlebotomy experience (required)

* Proficiency in venipuncture and capillary collection

* Ability to work independently in a high-volume overnight setting

* Strong communication skills

Preferred

* National phlebotomy certification

* Prior ED experience

Additional Requirements

* Weekend and holiday availability (mandatory)

* Ability to float between ED and inpatient units
