Overview
We are seeking a Stakeholder Relations Advisor to support the successful delivery of a major infrastructure project. This role ensures contractors adhere to stakeholder-related commitments and protocols while fostering strong relationships between Construction Managers, Contractors, and internal Community and Business Affairs teams. Acting as the first point of contact for stakeholder enquiries and issues management, the successful candidate will facilitate timely information flow, identify root causes of public issues, and collaborate on effective solutions.
Your Role
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with Contractors, Construction Managers, and internal project teams to ensure alignment on project goals and stakeholder commitments.
- Monitor construction schedules and progress to anticipate impacts, ensure public notification and outreach requirements are met, and identify milestone opportunities.
- Act as a liaison between Contractors and internal teams to proactively manage issues, identify causes, and propose mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and delivery partners to track stakeholder enquiries and develop issues notes and Q&A materials.
- Manage requests from internal teams and provide accurate, timely information to support responses to project-related enquiries and complaints.
- Advocate for Contractors to ensure stakeholder concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.
- Lead regular construction update meetings with Construction Managers to review progress, impacts, and mitigation plans.
- Support community information sessions by providing accurate information and coordinating subject matter experts.
- Assist with access to construction sites for scheduled community site visits.
- Provide guidance to Contractors on impact notifications and review construction notices for accuracy and clarity.
Location & Travel
- Combination of office-based and construction site work.
- Willingness to travel to multiple project sites as required.
- Valid drivers license and access to a personal vehicle may be required depending on project needs.
- Comfortable working primarily in-person and on active construction sites (with appropriate orientation and escort when needed).
About You
- Post-secondary education combined with relevant experience in stakeholder relations, issues management, or infrastructure projects.
- Asset: Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) or Public Engagement.
- Proven experience in issues management.
- Prior experience on large or high-profile infrastructure projects is an asset.
- Strong political and organizational awareness.
- Team player who thrives under pressure and adapts to changing priorities.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for sourcing information, obtaining approvals, and building relationships.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
