House Supervisor (Registered Nurse) Night Shift

Location: Belle Mead, NJ

Clinic: Behavioral Health

Schedule: 32 hours/week | Night shift | Every other weekend
On-Call: Required Commitment
Holidays: Must work 4 of 6 designated holidays

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced House Supervisor (RN) to provide overnight leadership and operational oversight in a hospital setting. This role ensures safe patient care, manages patient flow and staffing, and leads emergency responses when senior leadership is not on site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee hospital operations during night shift coverage

  • Provide leadership and supervision to nursing and hospital staff

  • Respond to Codes and Rapid Responses

  • Lead Incident Command until Emergency Management arrives

  • Manage staffing, patient flow, and bed assignments

  • Round on all departments and oversee patient care delivery

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (EMTALA, Joint Commission, State DOH)

  • Collaborate with nursing leadership, physicians, infection control, case management, and ancillary departments

  • Support timely discharges and patient transfers

  • Handle escalations, complaints, and unusual occurrences

  • Initiate disciplinary actions in coordination with department managers

  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives

  • Support staff education, mentorship, and onboarding

  • Maintain fiscal responsibility for staffing and resources

  • Perform documentation and communicate operational issues appropriately

Required Qualifications

  • Active New Jersey RN license

  • Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing

  • BSN in progress and/or willingness to obtain within three (3) years of hire
    (Applies to team members hired on or after February 2025)

  • Advanced Masters degree programs satisfy the BSN requirement (e.g., ADN to MSN)

  • Minimum of four (4) years of recent clinical experience

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in high-pressure situations

  • Working knowledge of nursing standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with utilization review, case management, or discharge planning
