About the Opportunity

Prospecta Talent is actively recruiting a Technical Services Engineer for a leading organization in the power protection and automation sector. This position is well-suited for engineering professionals experienced with protective relays, fault recorders, or electric power systems who enjoy field work, hands-on troubleshooting, and direct customer support.

The successful candidate will serve as a subject-matter expert, working closely with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure optimal product performance, support new technology adoption, and contribute to ongoing innovation in electrical utility environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver advanced technical support to customers regarding product installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.

  • Conduct on-site visits, product demonstrations, commissioning assistance, and customer training.

  • Provide feedback to internal engineering and product teams based on field performance, customer experience, and emerging industry needs.

  • Assist in developing technical documentation including application notes, proposals, and system integration guides.

  • Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues related to product functionality or system compatibility.

  • Represent the organization at technical/user conferences, industry meetings, and customer workshops.

  • Manage assigned projects independently to ensure accurate delivery within established scope and timelines.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering 
    

  • 3-5 years experience working with protective relays, fault recorders, grid protection, or power system automation.

  • Understanding of electrical power transmission, distribution, and generation systems.

  • Analytical skillset with exposure to EMTP, load-flow analysis, and short-circuit studies.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex engineering concepts clearly.

  • Comfortable working independently while managing multiple tasks and deliverables.

  • Ability to travel within the U.S. and occasionally to Canada.

  • Ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screening.

Preferred

  • Prior experience configuring relay protection systems or grid-automation solutions.

  • Familiarity with communication protocols (DNP3, IEC 61850, Modbus, etc.).

  • Previous experience supporting utility or industrial clients.

  • Project coordination or technical leadership experience.
