ServiceNow/MariaDB Server Admin - Secret Cleared

Database Engineer ServiceNow / MariaDB
Location: On-site in Chantilly, VA (5 days a week)
Clearance Required: Active Secret

We are seeking an experienced Database Engineer with deep expertise in MariaDB and ServiceNow to support and maintain a self-hosted ServiceNow environment. This is a hands-on role requiring a strong understanding of relational databases, system administration, and agile team collaboration.

What You'll Do

• Configure, operate, and support MariaDB databases within self-hosted ServiceNow environments

• Develop and implement technical solutions with appropriate testing and documentation

• Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to define and maintain optimal database configurations

• Troubleshoot issues related to database performance, network load balancing, and integration

• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to backlog refinement

• Support the creation of technical reports and system documentation

• Maintain and operate RHEL servers as part of broader system administration duties

What You Bring

• 12+ years of relevant experience (a bachelors degree may substitute for 5 years of experience)

• Advanced experience managing and operating MariaDB in clustered environments

• Strong understanding of relational databases such as MySQL or Oracle

• Experience with ServiceNow implementations, including Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Actions, and Scheduled Jobs

• Proficiency in ServiceNow client and server-side JavaScript, including APIs

• Hands-on experience with SOAP, REST, SSO, SAML, and integration of ServiceNow with third-party systems

• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Excellent troubleshooting skills and a consultative mindset

At least One Certification:

• Certified ServiceNow Developer

• Certified ServiceNow Administrator

• Certified Implementation Specialist (ITSM, CSM, or related area)

This is an on-site position located in Chantilly, VA to support proximity requirements for self-hosted ServiceNow infrastructure.
