About the job Ship Superintendent

Role:

Oversee the day-to-day ship operations from preventive maintenance & repairs, compliance to all the required licenses, certifications & marine regulatory, preparation of the material requests & approval (tools, fuel, oil and the like), conduct general ship inspection and proper documentations of all the required reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Submit reports to the Fleet Manager and/or VP Marine Engineering related to the details of regular visit inspection & maintenance.
  • Prepare order specifications, class survey and required parts for the hull, engine & electrical.
  • Organize & plan the yearly budget of the vessels.
  • Analyze damage condition for hull and engine/machineries and issuance of Inter-Office Advisory for the approval request of the repairs.
  • Conduct investigations and ensures reporting for Accident & Hazardous Occurrences, Engine/Machineries breakdown reports, Near-Miss (Hazardous Occurrences) reports and Ships internal reports.
  • Check the completion of job order repairs and good condition of spare parts store requisitions supplies based on the required standards.
  • Monitor the updates and status report of vessels in conformity of MARINAs regulatory standards in preparation for the audit both internal and external.
  • Ensure compliance of ships documents, certifications, and updated SMS checklist.
  • Safeguard all navigational and safety of engine/machineries equipment are conformed with Marina Authority.
  • Observe the regular preventive maintenance system of the engine/machinery running hours, to ensure all maintenance is properly repaired.
  • Update and review the engine & deck abstracts particularly in fuel/lube-oil and water consumption of the vessel. Must monitor results of oil analysis and ensure its resolutions.
  • Process requisitions of fuel/lube-oil and water requirements of the vessel.
  • Provide Masters an assistance for the Safety & Pollution prevention of the vessel.
  • Perform other duties required by the superiors.

Qualifications:

  • Marine or Engineering Graduate
  • Must be a licensed engineer.
  • Worked experience in Ship Management.
  • Organized and good communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Planned Maintenance System experience.
  • Knowledgeable using Microsoft window applications.
  • Familiarity with ISM and ISPS.
