About the job Application Support Officer - Reliever

The Application Support Officer (Reliever) will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and enhancing shipping-related software applications in a defined period. This role must have understanding of both shipping industry processes and technical expertise in supporting and resolving application issues.

Responsibilities:

Incident Management and Service Request Fulfillment

Provide first-line support and troubleshooting for all applications in the

company.

  • Respond promptly to application incidents and service requests, ensuring timely resolution of issues and minimizing disruptions to business operations.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on recurring application issues and implement long-term solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including business users and technical specialists, to resolve issues and improve application processes.
  • Work closely with third-party vendors and technical teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.

System Configuration and Account Management

  • Monitor application performance and identify areas for optimization and improvement.
  • Support the testing and deployment of new application features, patches, or system upgrades.
  • Perform application updates, and configuration changes as necessary.

Documentation

  • Develop and maintain user guides, FAQs, and documentation to support internal teams and end users.
  • Assist in the creation of training materials and provide end-user training as needed.

Security and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company security policies when supporting and configuring applications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
  • 1 to 3 years application support work experience
  • Background in Softship, People Strong, Sertica and NetSuite is a plus
  • Certification such as ITIL Foundation, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals is a plus
  • Experience with cloud-based applications or SaaS platforms is a plus
  • Programming skills such as SQL scripting, C#.Net and Crystal Reports
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience in application support, ideally within the shipping, logistics, or supply chain industry
  • Strong technical proficiency with enterprise applications and troubleshooting tools
  • Familiarity with system integration processes and managing interfaces between different systems
  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices (incident management, problem management and change management)
  • Strong understanding of security protocols and industry best practices to ensure application security
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and IT Service Management Tools
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills in English
