Acts as the Companys Chief Compliance Officer and Data Privacy Officer

Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for the overall compliance strategy of the PSACC Group of Companies

2. Evaluates the regulatory risks of the PSACC Group of Companies and updates the Division Head, President, Risk Management Committee, board, stockholders and officers

3. Able to give legal advise on day-to-day operational concerns involving regulatory bodies

4. Ensures overall compliance of the different companies under the PSACC Group of Companies with Philippine law, rules and regulations (including renewal and application of necessary permits, filings, and registrations); coordinates with EHS, Quality and Safety and the different business units

5. Establishes and implements short- and long-term organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures for the department; monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness, and effects changes required for improvement.

6. Prepares the budget for the Compliance Department

7. Supervises and manages the compliance officers under the Compliance Department as well as the Board secretariat under the Office of the Corporate Secretary

8. Drafts policies and procedures for the PSACC Group of Companies to ensure compliance with the different rules and regulations of the regulatory bodies

9. Draft position papers, letters, opinions and advisory

10. Represents the PSACC Group of Companies before regulatory bodies, administrative agencies and local government units

11. Acts as the Companys data privacy officer

12. Drafts the policy and procedure to ensure compliance by the companies of the data privacy laws

13. Establishes and maintains constructive relationships with elected and appointed officials on the national and local level as well as with the regulatory authorities and invests considerable time and energy in prioritized networking activity.

14. Apprises the President and senior leadership of pertinent legislative issues, external factors, and policy proposals and actions that could impact the PSACC Group of Companies

15. Understands, communicates and advocates the PSACC Group of Companies priorities to governmental officials, local and national organizations and other government entities on key legislative issues related to shipping, transport and logistics industry.

16. Serves as a key representative for the PSACC Group of Companies at legislative sessions, before legislators in support of institutional goals and objectives.

17. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Admitted to the Bar

  • At least 10 years experience doing Compliance Work, Permits and Licensing and/or Government Relations Work; holding a senior management position

  • Competent on data privacy laws

  • Must be able to navigate in a highly regulated environment

  • Must have good track record in ensuring regulatory compliance

  • Must have strong management skills, interpersonal skills and decision-making skills

  • Good verbal and written communications

  • Willing to travel for work

  • Able to manage a team working in different locations

  • Has experience in setting up Compliance Department
