The Mechanical Facilities & Building Engineer is responsible for the design, maintenance, and improvement of MEPF systems within the facilities, ensuring efficient operation and compliance with preparing estimates for time and material costs, completing quality assurance, observing health and safety standards, and compiling reports for different stakeholders. The incumbent should be able to work alongside various professionals and create work schedules that meet deadlines. This position is critical for maintaining the functionality and sustainability of building systems.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Construction Documents and Scheduling
- Understanding the details of the project like drawing, blueprints etc. of the given plan and work. Review and analyze architectural and engineering drawings, including site plans, structural drawings, and other relevant documents
- Verify that construction activities align with the approved design and engineering standards.
- Identify any discrepancies between the drawings and actual site conditions and coordinate with the project team for resolutions
- Act as a liaison between the project team, architects, and other stakeholders to clarify design elements and resolve any ambiguities.
- Identify the required number of steels and all the details needed for the Bar Bending Schedule.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure accurate material ordering.
- Break down the project into manageable tasks based on the drawings and develop construction plans and schedule.
- Prepare and implement the chart work schedule to be implemented in all the work sites.
- Collaborate with on-site construction teams to ensure they understand and follow the design specifications.
Design and implement MEPF systems for new projects
By conducting feasibility studies and using CAD Software, SolidWorks, and other software.
Responsible for supervising and overseeing the project following the agreed schedules.
- Oversee the implementation of MEPF engineering projects on-site, ensuring compliance with design specifications, codes, and regulations.
- Manage construction activities and coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor and inspect construction work to ensure quality and adherence to safety standards.
- Resolve technical issues that may arise during construction.
Project Documentation
Providing the project documents and reports as needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including drawings, reports, and correspondence.
- Prepare progress reports and communicate project status to stakeholders.
- Perform routine maintenance of the facilities.
- Utilizing preventive maintenance schedules, proactive, and quick response.
- Ensuring the functionality of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural systems.
- Maintaining compliance with fire codes, emergency plans, and workplace safety standards.
- Reducing energy consumption and promoting sustainability practices.
- Coordinating external service providers and managing contracts.
- Planning and monitoring facility-related costs and investments.
- Ensuring adherence to building codes, environmental laws, and accessibility standards.
- Regular meetings and project management tools
- Conducting regular audits and training sessions
- Maintaining detailed reports and updating engineering manuals
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree Mechanical Engineering with BOSH Training is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 Years experience in facilities management or mechanical engineering, preferably in a large-scale facility setting.
- License ME is preferred; familiarity with HVAC systems and energy management systems is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects and facilities simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities.
