About the job Tax Specialist

Summary of the Role: The Tax Specialist under the Advocacy Group is responsible in the Company's tax planning, advisory and advocacy works. He or she will handle BIR audits and annual external audits. Further, he or she will support the business partners tax related concerns in various projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Handle BIR investigations and audits of PSACC and subsidiaries
-Handle regular tax compliance review
-Handle tax-related matters during the annual external audit
-Handle business projects involving consultation/ coordination with BIR
-Reviews the local tax laws or researches the Company's processes from the entity and transactional level to offer possible tax savings opportunities
-Provide monthly updates on new BIR issuances and provide analysis and impact to the company and subsidiaries
-Draft position papers and other letter correspondences address to BIR, as needed
-Develop and implement strategies to manage and defend all BIR tax audits.
-Facilitate remediation of audit findings from internal and external audits

Qualifications:
-
Must be a Certified Public Accountant
-3 to 4 years experience in handling Monthly, Quarterly and Annual BIR reporting (e.g. DST, VAT, Income Tax, Withholding Tax, Percentage Tax, Fringe Benefit Tax, Final Tax, etc.), preferably in big 4 accounting firm.
-Can do tax analysis and research with reference to domestic tax legislation, case law and tax relevant regulations
-Has working knowledge on tax reconciliations
-With experience in electronic (EFPS) tax filing
-Strong background in National Revenue and Local Taxation Codes
-Has experience in drafting letters and correspondences to BIR and other government agencies.
-Experienced using an accounting system, preferably knowledgeable with Netsuite
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Excellent organizational and time management skills
-Proficient in Microsoft Office or similar software
-Ability to solve urgent matters and work under pressure
-Ability to impose a proactive spirit in the team
-Flexibility, especially in the period of month/quarter/year-end closing
-Amenable to work onsite
