About the role

Join a mission-driven engineering team applying systems engineering (SE) principles across the full lifecycle Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement. You'll collaborate with government stakeholders and program leadership, ensure technical integrity, and deliver work products aligned to ISO/IEC 15288 process areas (Technical, Project, Enterprise/Organizational, and Agreement).

What you'll do (common across levels)

  • Apply SE methods from requirements through verification, transition, validation, operations, and disposal.

  • Analyze alternatives, make recommendations, and create/maintain SE artifacts.

  • Communicate trade-offs (performance, risk, cost, schedule) to stakeholders and leadership.

  • Support configuration, risk, decision, measurement, and information management processes.

  • Contribute to quality management and lifecycle model management; support acquisition/supply activities.

Level guide & qualifications

SE1 Associate Systems Engineer

You will: Perform SE activities and assist in preparing work products in Technical process areas.
Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelors in a qualified engineering field or related discipline + 1 year SE experience, or

  • 12 credit hours in ISO/IEC 15288 Technical areas (in lieu of 1 year experience), or

  • HS/GED + 4 years general SE experience (any process area).

SE2 Systems Engineer

You will: Develop and deliver work products across any ISO/IEC 15288 process area; perform tech alternative analyses; assist in Enterprise/Agreement areas.
Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelors in a qualified engineering field or related discipline + 4 years SE experience, or

  • HS/GED + 4 years general SE experience, or

  • Masters substitutes 1 year; PhD substitutes 3 years.

SE3 Senior Systems Engineer

You will: Perform SE activities and deliver work products across Project & Technical areas; independently analyze and recommend design alternatives; deliver in either Enterprise or Agreement areas.
Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelors + 6 years SE, or

  • HS/GED + 10 years general SE, or

  • Masters + 4 years, or

  • PhD + 4 years.

SE4 Lead Systems Engineer

You will: Deliver across all Project & Technical areas; analyze and recommend design alternatives; deliver in either Enterprise or Agreement areas; assist in developing innovative approaches, evaluating suitability, proposing standards/processes; supervise/coordinate other engineers/technicians.
Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelors + 10 years SE, or

  • HS/GED + 14 years general SE, or

  • Masters + 8 years, or

  • PhD + 8 years.

SE5 Principal Systems Engineer

You will: Lead contractor SE for a project; approve delivery of work products across multiple ISO/IEC 15288 process areas; make independent engineering decisions; brief stakeholders on all technical aspects.
Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelors + 15 years SE, or

  • HS/GED + 19 years general SE, or

  • Masters + 13 years, or

  • PhD + 13 years.
    Additional (SE5): 5 years CNO experience leveraging complex dataflows (RAMPANTTORCH).

ISO/IEC 15288 coverage (examples of where youll contribute)

  • Technical: Stakeholder Requirements, Requirements Analysis, Architectural Design, Implementation, Integration, Verification, Transition, Validation, Operation, Maintenance, Disposal.

  • Project: Planning, Assessment & Control, Decision & Risk Management, Configuration & Information Management, Measurement.

  • Enterprise/Org: Portfolio, Infrastructure, Lifecycle Models, HR, Quality.

  • Agreement: Acquisition, Supply.
