About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer (TW2) to develop and maintain comprehensive documentation supporting complex software, systems engineering, and operational environments. This role is key to ensuring that highly technical information is clearly communicated to diverse audiences from developers and engineers to end users and government stakeholders.
You will collaborate closely with technical teams to produce accurate, user-focused materials including installation guides, configuration manuals, data flow documentation, and training resources.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare, review, revise, and maintain operations documentation, user guides, manuals, and technical publications.

Write and edit content for software, systems engineering, and operational documentation, including installation and configuration materials.

Research and organize complex technical information from drawings, specifications, and consultations with subject matter experts (SMEs).

Develop code documentation, implementation guides, and end-user training materials.

Maintain an internal documentation library and ensure consistent formatting and version control.

Utilize tools such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Visio to produce professional deliverables.

Coordinate layout, design, and review cycles with engineering and program teams.

Translate technical concepts into clear, concise, and accurate documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Prepare briefings, reports, and responses tailored to multiple stakeholder levels.

Apply relevant documentation standards such as NSA DS-89 for technical manuals and defense acquisition deliverables.
Required Qualifications

6+ years of experience as a Technical Writer supporting programs or contracts of similar scope and complexity.

Bachelors degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.

An additional 4 years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.

Strong knowledge of technical writing principles, grammar, and structured documentation.

Experience interpreting engineering drawings, operational procedures, and software development artifacts.

Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, developers, and analysts in classified environments.
Desired Skills

Experience with DoD or Intelligence Community (IC) documentation processes.

Familiarity with systems engineering, software development, or analytic tradecraft documentation.

Proficiency in applying style guides and technical standards to ensure document consistency and compliance.

Salary Package:
$ 115,000.00 - 122,000.00 (US Dollar)
