About the Role

Were looking for a User Experience (UX) Designer with strong design leadership and research expertise to craft intuitive, high-impact interfaces for complex tools and systems that support national security missions. This role is perfect for a creative professional who can balance innovation, usability, and technical constraints to deliver exceptional user experiences.

As a UX Designer, youll lead design planning, research, and development activities, creating interactive conventions, prototypes, and mock-ups. Youll work closely with engineers, product owners, and stakeholders to translate complex requirements into engaging, user-centered solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead user experience design for software systems, tools, and interfaces from concept through delivery.

  • Operate in an agile development environment, delivering UX feedback and updates weekly.

  • Conduct user research, testing, and optimization to inform design decisions and improve usability.

  • Create visual designs, wireframes, storyboards, and interaction flows to communicate design concepts.

  • Rapidly prototype and iterate on multiple design solutions in collaboration with product teams.

  • Develop and maintain interface design standards and usability guidelines.

  • Partner with front-end developers to ensure alignment between design intent and implementation.

  • Facilitate user interviews, requirements gathering, and design reviews with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Manage and mentor diverse engineering and design teams in UX best practices and research methodologies.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in User Experience Design.

  • 5+ years within the last 10 years leading full project life cycle design, from user research through delivery.

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited institution.

    • Four (4) additional years of UX design experience may substitute for a degree.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply user-centered design principles in complex or technical environments.

  • Experience with screen mock-up and prototyping tools such as PowerPoint, Visio, or Axure.

  • Experience designing interactive visualizations or analytical tools.

  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with a focus on clarity and impact.
