About the Role

Were looking for experienced System Administrators (SA2SA3) to support the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of mission-critical Information Technology (IT) systems. These positions are key to ensuring reliability, performance, and security across complex enterprise infrastructures, including client/server environments, networks, storage systems, and mobile platforms.

You'll work across a range of technologies and platforms, supporting day-to-day operations, optimizing performance, and resolving escalated issues that impact system availability and mission success.

Key Responsibilities

Depending on level, responsibilities include:

  • Provide implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for IT systems.

  • Manage the daily configuration, monitoring, and operation of system infrastructure.

  • Deliver Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, including issue identification, diagnosis, and resolution.

  • Optimize system operations, resource utilization, and perform capacity planning.

  • Configure and maintain UNIX and Windows operating systems, installing and patching as needed.

  • Troubleshoot and maintain network integrity, and implement OS enhancements for improved reliability.

  • Support the escalation and communication of incident status to agency management and internal stakeholders.

  • Analyze and resolve complex issues involving server hardware, applications, and software integration (SA3).

  • Support system architecture design and understand system interdependencies in a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) framework (SA3).

  • Provide documentation and feedback to improve system processes and service quality.

Level Breakdown

SA2 Mid-Level System Administrator

  • 10+ years of experience as a System Administrator supporting similar programs or contracts.

  • Bachelors degree in a technical discipline (or 5 additional years of relevant experience).

  • Proficient in UNIX and Windows administration, network troubleshooting, and system monitoring.

  • Strong understanding of incident response, performance optimization, and security compliance.

  • DoD 8570 compliance at IAT Level II or higher required.

SA3 Senior System Administrator

  • 15+ years of experience as a System Administrator in large-scale, complex environments.

  • Bachelors degree in a technical discipline (or 5 additional years of relevant experience).

  • Advanced expertise in system architecture, hardware/software integration, and SOA environments.

  • Experienced in analyzing, designing, and optimizing server and application ecosystems for performance and reliability.

  • DoD 8570 compliance at IAT Level II or higher required.

Technical Environment

  • Operating Systems: Windows Server, Linux/UNIX (Red Hat, CentOS, etc.)

  • Tools & Technologies: Active Directory, VMware, PowerShell, Bash, SCCM, Splunk, Nagios, WSUS

  • Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Firewall management

  • Security & Compliance: DoD STIGs, RMF processes, IAT Level II certifications (Security+, CCNA Security, etc.)
