Your responsibilities will include product selection, brand management, negotiation, and inventory control - plus, you'll get to work closely with some of your favourite Korean beauty brands!
If you share our passion for Korean beauty and have experience or qualifications in buying, then this is the perfect job for you!
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Brand Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with our brand partners. Maintain strong partnerships including updates and sales reports to secure the best pricing and promotional support.
- Purchase Orders: Draft, submit, and check purchase orders for brands using our forecasting dashboard. Ensure accuracy by cross-checking details against current stock and resolving discrepancies before submission to maintain seamless inventory flow.
- Product Selection: Collaborate with the purchasing team leader and senior buyers to create trend reports and a diverse and appealing assortment of Korean beauty products. Stay updated on industry trends and consumer preferences.
Shipments: Assist in managing shipments by arranging and negotiating freight services for all brand accounts (not just your own), and providing detailed packing documents for the warehouse team.
- Creating Reports/proposals: Work with the retail team to create visual inventory, sales, and marketing reports to share with the brands and the wider purchasing team.
- Market Research: Conduct and present market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, new brands, and opportunities within the Korean beauty market. Participate in product testing sessions and provide detailed feedback.
- Quality Assurance: Work closely with the team leader and warehouse team to ensure all products meet our standards and comply with UK regulatory requirements.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with marketing, sales, and operations teams to plan promotions, marketing strategies, and in-store merchandising.
- Team Administrative Support: Provide general admin assistance to support the wider team and senior buyers, including scheduling meetings, managing documents, preparing reports, and assisting with team communications to help ensure efficient day-to-day operations. Important to note:
Frequent Travel Expectations: Although the job is primarily based in Central London, candidates must have the flexibility for both international travel and on-site work commitments. Travel may be required regularly, overnight, and on short notice for industry events, client meetings, as well as potential extended periods working from our West London warehouse.
Team Collaboration & Flexibility: As part of a small and dynamic team, there will be occasional opportunities to assist with activities outside of core responsibilities, such as helping with store openings, supporting team events, or assisting with ad-hoc projects.
