Duties
- Deliver expert nursing assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed patient evaluations to determine ongoing care needs.
- Administer medications and treatments such as IV infusions, catheterizations, wound suturing, and specialized procedures like botulinum toxin treatments and ostomy care.
- Manage complex medical equipment including ventilators, dialysis machines, and cardiac catheters while maintaining aseptic techniques and infection control standards.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care plans involving case management, discharge planning, and collaboration with physicians specializing in trauma medicine, infectious disease care, geriatrics, and behavioral health.
- Document all patient interactions accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or Cerner while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Provide patient education on medication administration, pain management strategies, nutrition plans including tube feeding, and health coaching tailored to individual needs.
- Respond promptly to emergencies such as acute pain episodes or airway management issues in high-acuity environments like ICU or Level I Trauma Centers.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Valid RN license with current registration; experience working in long-term acute care settings preferred.
- Demonstrated critical care experience including Hospital or LTAC Setting.
- BLS & ACLS
- Proficiency in advanced clinical skills such as IV insertion, phlebotomy, suturing, and aseptic technique; experience with ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for documentation purposes.
- Knowledge of complex medical procedures including cardiac catheterization, gastrostomy tube feeding, spinal taps, and infectious disease protocols.
