Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories to inform treatment plans.
- Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Manage complex medical procedures such as catheterizations, suturing, wound care, and ventilator management in accordance with best practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients in acute care, long-term care, hospice, or community settings.
- Document all patient interactions meticulously within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner, maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide patient education on health management, medication administration, nutrition, and discharge planning to empower individuals in their recovery journey.
- Support triage activities in urgent care or emergency environments by prioritizing patient needs based on severity and acuity levels.
Requirements
- Valid nursing license with current registration in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Proven experience in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, ICU, emergency room, or long-term care facilities.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Hands-on experience with critical care procedures like ventilator management, trauma medicine (Level I/II trauma center preferred), and infectious disease care.
- Ability to perform advanced skills such as IV insertion, phlebotomy, specimen collection/processing, and aseptic technique confidently.
- Familiarity with specialty areas including ophthalmology procedures (e.g., botulinum toxin treatments), dialysis support, hospice & palliative medicine, geriatrics including memory care and dementia care.

Required Qualifications
Active RN License
BLS certs required before start date
2 years recent Med‑Surg experience in an acute care hospital
