Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories to inform individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications via injections, IV infusions, catheterizations, and other routes while adhering strictly to aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations.
  • Manage complex clinical procedures such as wound suturing, tube feeding, ventilator management, dialysis support, and ostomy care with precision and confidence.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks to document patient information accurately and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for case management, discharge planning, trauma medicine interventions, or specialty care such as cardiology or infectious disease treatment.
  • Provide patient education on health coaching topics including medication administration, nutrition, pain management strategies, and chronic disease management.
  • Respond promptly to triage calls or emergency situations in emergency room settings or Level I trauma centers while maintaining critical care standards.
  • Support infection control protocols and laboratory specimen collection/processing to ensure safety and diagnostic accuracy.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Required Qualifications* Active GA or Compact RN License* BLS & ACLS certs required before start date* Vent/Trach management* 1 year of recent experience in a hospital or LTAC setting* Open availability for scheduling

  • Valid nursing license with current registration in the relevant state or jurisdiction.
  • Proven experience in various clinical environments such as hospital medicine, ICU/CCU (Critical Care Unit), emergency medicine, or long-term care facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures, and healthcare compliance standards including NCQA standards.
  • Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; proficiency in medical documentation is essential.
