Job Description for Network SME


Required Technical Skill Set**

Cisco Nexus 5k/7k,F5,VPN,F5 Load balancer, Juniper Switches, Ansbile automation.     

 Desired Competencies (Technical Competency)

Must-Have**

(Ideally should not be more than 8-12)

• Experience in Network Support with Good Knowledge and troubleshooting experience on Routing, Switching.
• Must have worked or managed enterprise grade datacenter networks
• Experience in working with Nexus5K, Nexus 7K/9K, Nexus 2K,routers,Juniper Switches
• Experience in Test, Implement, and Support Advanced Layer-2/3 Switching Solutions.
• Experience in Cisco or Juniper Routing and Switching, Cisco, Cisco ISE, Cisco Meraki, F5 Load balancer
• Good Knowledge and experience in working of VRFs, VDCs, AAA, SNMP,
• Monitoring tools, (DHCP/DNS/IPAM).
• Experience in management of F5 devices- GTM,LTM,WAF, VPN, Firewalls
• Experience in upgrade of F5 devices- GTM,LTM,WAF, VPN, Firewalls
• Experience of Infoblox DNS & upgrades
• Experience with Juniper switches ,Core MX routers
• Experience in using Ansible Automation for various activities across Network devices,F5(LTM,GTM,WAF,VPN) upgrades using Ansible
• Experience of SDN, Cisco ACI
• Experience in checkpoint, FortiGate or another firewall, Cisco Prime.
• Experience in configuration and troubleshooting knowledge in Layer2 protocols, such as: VLAN, Private VLANS, VTP, STP, DTP, Trunking, Stacking. High Availability Protocols (HSRP, VRRP, GLBP), EtherChannel, DOT1Q, ISL, SVI.
• Experience in configuring/troubleshooting of Layer3 Protocols such as: BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, Static Routing, Floating Static Routing, Failover.

Good-to-Have

• Good to have knowledge with network management tools such as configuration management, network health check tools, log collectors.
• Good to have knowledge in monitoring network with tools like (Cacti, netcool, Nagios, PRTG, NetFlow, etc.)
• Good to have knowledge of using Spectrum/ E-Health/ Cisco-Prime/ NCM/ IPAM
• Should have knowledge of Infovista tool.
• Good to understand Internet Lease Lines, SDWAN, MPLS   

Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role      
Designs and configures network implementations/Upgrades.    
Participates as a Subject Matter Expert in architectural design reviews.    
Support for LAN/WAN networking technologies, including F5 LB support.    
Perform analysis of various Projects and effort estimations .    
Perform upgrade, implementation across multiple Network devices – manual, Using Ansible automation.     
Develop configuration management capabilities and documentation practices.
