Job Description for Network Engineer in Brisbane

 Perform a wide range of duties on network devices including install, debug, maintain, upgrade and general support

 Architect and support WAN connectivity to remote sites

 Research, evaluate and recommend network technologies to support business requirements. Evaluate, test and

deploy all software and hardware upgrades to the network equipment.

 Proficient in design and troubleshoot the below

- BGP

- OSPF

- EIGRP

- Spanning Tree

- Cisco Wireless

- 802.1x

 Develop, implement, test and maintain disaster recovery plans

 Act as a technical escalation point to assist with resolving incidents and tasks as required

 Ability to manage multi-tasking network project

 Produce high and low-level designs including implementation and test plans

 Produce network Visio diagrams

 Work closely with other internal teams for project delivery

 Ability to work with third parties and other teams to schedule and implement change

 Collaborate with team members in the production of network design

 Collect and review system data for capacity planning purposes

 Interface with vendors for procurement & maintenance

 Maintain and up-to-date knowledge of emerging network tools and technologies

 Rigorously create and maintain documentation for all processes and procedures

 Perform other duties as required by the Team Leader, Network Systems to meet requirements

Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science / Information Technology or related Business discipline
 Relevant Industry Certification in network technologies or relevant on the job experience 3 to 5 years network design experience
 5 to 7 years network support (routing, switching, wireless) experience in implementation and administration of
large corporate networks
 Demonstrated experience in providing technical advice, guidance and technical leadership in relation to capacity
planning, business continuity planning and disaster recovery planning.
