Job Summary:
As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of personnel, premises, and assets within the organization. You will enforce security policies and procedures, monitor surveillance systems, and respond to security incidents to ensure a secure environment for employees, visitors, and property.
Job Responsibilities:
Security Patrols
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to deter unauthorized access, monitor for suspicious activity, and ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
Access Control
- Control access to premises by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying credentials, and issuing visitor passes or badges as necessary.
Surveillance Monitoring
- Operate surveillance systems, including CCTV cameras and alarms, to monitor for security breaches, safety hazards, or other unusual activity.
Security Screening
- Conduct security screenings of individuals, vehicles, and packages entering or leaving the premises to prevent the unauthorized removal of assets or contraband.
Emergency Response
- Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, or medical emergencies, following established protocols and procedures to mitigate risks and provide assistance as needed.
Incident Reporting
- Document security incidents, observations, and actions taken in written reports, maintaining accurate records for future reference and reporting to appropriate authorities as required.
Conflict Resolution
- Resolve conflicts or disturbances in a professional and diplomatic manner, using deescalation techniques and conflict resolution skills to defuse potentially volatile situations.
Safety Inspections
- Conduct routine inspections of security equipment, fire safety systems, and emergency exits to ensure functionality and compliance with safety standards.
Training and Awareness
- Provide security awareness training to employees, contractors, or visitors, educating them on security policies, procedures, and best practices for maintaining a secure environment.
Collaboration
- Collaborate with other security personnel, law enforcement agencies, and emergency responders to coordinate security efforts and respond effectively to incidents or threats.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or related field. (Master's degree preferred)
- Certified Security Professional
- Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or military service is advantageous but not al-ways required.
- Basic computer skills for report writing and accessing security systems.
- Understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and security protocols.
- Certification in first aid, CPR, or other relevant emergency response training may be beneficial.
