A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Nursing Director for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight. This role will work closely with senior nursing leadership to ensure delivery of safe, high-quality care and effective resource management across designated patient care areas.

The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical knowledge, proven leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of hospital operations. This position requires 24/7 accountability for assigned units and offers the opportunity to lead within a high-acuity environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and collaborate with senior nursing leadership (CNO) to implement, evaluate, and improve nursing practices across NICU and related areas.

  • Ensure competency of clinical staff and optimal patient outcomes.

  • Provide leadership and guidance on policy development, staffing, and budgeting.

  • Promote a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and patient-centered care.

Qualifications:

  • Licensure: Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of practice.

  • Education (Required): Associate degree in nursing and a bachelors degree in a healthcare-related field or a BSN.

  • Education (Preferred): MSN or masters in a healthcare-related field.

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in a hospital setting with progressive leadership responsibility (e.g., Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse).

  • Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Additional certifications as required by state regulations.

Candidate Profile:

  • 2+ to 5 years of relevant leadership experience.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex clinical environments.

  • NICU experience preferred.
