About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and versatile Application Engineer to join their high-performing agile team. This role requires deep expertise in Red Prairie (JDA) Dispatcher Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) combined with strong full stack development skills across Angular, Node.js, and Java. Youll play a key role in delivering tailored WMS solutions, improving warehouse operations, and supporting development in cloud-native, microservices-based environments.

This role blends functional and technical responsibilities and will suit someone confident with complex implementations, client-facing engagement, and modern software engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

Red Prairie WMS Responsibilities:

  • Gather and analyse business requirements and translate into detailed technical designs

  • Configure Red Prairie / JDA Dispatcher WMS systems to meet business needs

  • Customize and develop PL/SQL stored procedures, triggers, views, and tables

  • Develop UNIX shell scripts to support WMS development and automation

  • Deploy configuration and code across Development, Testing, and Production environments

  • Conduct unit testing and support integration testing, UAT, and Go-Live activities

  • Provide production support and post-deployment warranty services

  • Engage with stakeholders and provide clear functional and technical communication

Full Stack Engineering Responsibilities:

  • Contribute as a full stack engineer across Angular (v15), Node.js, and Java

  • Build and enhance microservices hosted in AWS using Lambda, SNS, and SQS

  • Work with cloud-native databases including PostgreSQL and DynamoDB

  • Support automated testing using frameworks like Cypress

  • Collaborate in an Agile environment and contribute to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives

Core Competencies & Experience Required

Must Have:

  • 610 years' experience as a Configuration Analyst and Developer in Red Prairie / JDA Dispatcher WMS

  • At least 2 end-to-end warehouse or client implementations

  • Strong PL/SQL expertise; capable of writing complex queries, stored procedures, and triggers

  • Proficient in Red Prairie WMS configurations (e.g. Putaway, RDT rules, SKUs, Merge rules, Label design, etc.)

  • Strong experience with UNIX/Linux environments and shell scripting

  • Exposure to middleware technologies (e.g., webMethods)

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and documentation skills

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with JDA Integrator configuration and development

  • Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow, HP SM9

  • React or React Native development experience
