Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our clients team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of conveyor systems and associated equipment. Responsibilities

  • Assemble and install conveyor systems according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal performance and reliability of conveyor systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization of conveyor systems.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment inventory.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or similar role, preferably in the conveyor industry.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documents.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Proven experience with installation and maintenance a variety of conveyor scrapers and ploughs.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in conveyor maintenance and repair work preferred, not essential
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge of pulleys, gearboxes, and bearings
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to safety regulations
  • Regular travel to and from local customer sites, plus workshop work
  • Ability to travel and work on-site at various locations (expect 2/3 nights away with overnight allowances)
  • Availability for 4 x 10+ hour workdays, with additional overtime opportunities available
  • Valid driver's license
  • Trade Fitter Certificate

Benefits:

  1. Competitive hourly rate: up to $55 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
  2. Overtime - Time a half for the first two hours - Double time thereafter.
  3. Travelling - Monday to Saturday - Paid at a single time when the client is paying. - Sunday Travelling is at Time and a half.
  4. Living away from home allowance ($90 per night in the Mudgee Ulan area, $40 per night when staying at CIVEO Camp Boggab
  5. Work Ute provided for job-related travel
  6. Overtime available for those interested in additional income
