Paralegal – Company Commercial

Our client has an opportunity for an experienced full-time paralegal to join their expanding team in the Luton office, working in our highly regarded Company Commercial department.

Specific duties will include working alongside the two partners, three solicitors and one paralegal in the department providing invaluable support on the preparation of disclosure bundles, assisting clients with due diligence requests and drafting ancillary documentation.

Key Responsibilities

You will need to have experience in

  • Assisting clients with responding to due diligence requests
  • Preparing disclosure bundles
  • Drafting ancillary documentation
  • Reviewing documentation to provide reports on key terms
  • Organising, indexing and controlling of large volumes of documentation
  • Assisting with the smooth running of the administration of acquisitions and disposals of businesses for the Company Commercial team
  • Conducting legal research using appropriate sources and keeping up to date with relevant legislation
  • Providing support to other fee earners in the Company Commercial team on general commercial law matters
  • Handling sensitive information ensuring confidentiality and security of all practice and client data and documentation.
  • Undertaking any other ad hoc duties as requested by partners and staff in the department.
  • Liaising with other staff and fee earners within the firm
  • Liaising with other professionals, lawyers and clients as required
  • Support firm-wide and departmental marketing events and attend training and seminars as required

Personal and Technical Specifications

  • Experience working as a paralegal within a Company Commercial department/practice area
  • Ability to organise workload to meet changing deadlines ensuring prioritisation of different work matters across the team
  • Highly motivated individual with a ‘can-do’, positive approach who will work both autonomously and in a team
  • Ability to produce and deliver work to a high standard which is presented in a logical and coherent manner within the required timeframes
  • Good research skills
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal and client care skills
