Our client is a young, regionally positioned cloud infrastructure company targeting AI and GPU-intensive computing. They have set up legal entities in Singapore and Malaysia, built on strong NVIDIA GPU architecture, delivering sustainable, high-performance and high-efficiency compute to their customers.

About the Role:
They are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and proactive individual to join the operations team as an Operations Associate, reporting to the General Manager of Southeast Asia. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting their cross-border operations by managing import logistics, liaising with government agencies, and assisting with regulatory, tax, and corporate documentation in Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities:

Liaise with:

  • Malaysia Customs and customs clearance agents
  • Corporate secretaries for company registration and filings
  • MDEC, MITI, and other government agencies for licenses, grants, and approvals
  • Banks and Bank Negara on reporting matters. 
  • Oversee and coordinate:-
  • Equipment importation and customs clearance
  • Company registration, licensing, and ongoing statutory compliance
  • Tax refund processes and incentive applications
  • Cross-border payments and compliance reporting
  • Work closely with the finance team to interpret and submit financial documents or models required for tax or regulatory purposes
  • Track, follow up, and expedite government-related processes
  • Visit Customs offices, clearance agents, or other authorities in person when needed
  • Travel to Singapore occasionally for coordination or meetings

Requirements:

  • Based in Kuala Lumpur, with flexibility to travel locally and regionally
  • Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English, both spoken and written
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in customs, government liaison, corporate secretarial, or tax/regulatory roles
  • Basic financial knowledgeable to understand financial statements, tax forms, and compliance documents
  • Prior experience with MDEC, Customs, or corporate services firms is highly preferred
  • Familiar with Malaysian regulatory platforms
  • Proactive, organized, and responsive, with strong communication skills

Preferred Background:

  • Experience in tech infrastructure, logistics, or handling government grant applications
  • Familiarity with Malaysia-Singapore cross-border trade or finance operations
