Position: Category Manager

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Category Manager to join our team. The Category Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive growth and profitability within their assigned product categories. This is a full-time position with opportunities for growth and advancement within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute category strategies to achieve sales and profit targets

- Conduct market research and analysis to identify new trends, opportunities, and threats within the assigned categories

- Monitor and analyze sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities to identify areas for improvement

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, and supply chain to ensure effective execution of category strategies

- Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing for the company

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure a reliable and consistent supply chain

- Manage product assortment and pricing to optimize sales and margins

- Work with the marketing team to develop and implement promotional campaigns and product launches

- Monitor inventory levels and make recommendations for inventory management to minimize stockouts and excess inventory

- Provide regular reports and updates on category performance to senior management

- Stay updated on industry trends, consumer behavior, and market dynamics to identify new growth opportunities

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field

- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in category management or related roles

- IRI/Nielsen data analytics experience 

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Excellent negotiation and communication skills

- Proven track record of successfully developing and executing category strategies

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools

- Knowledge of the consumer goods industry is preferred
