Job Title: Accountant
Job Summary:
The Accountant is responsible for supporting accounting functions across various facilities. This role involves managing general ledger activities, preparing financial reports, and assisting with payroll processing and other accounting tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with month-end general ledger close and prepare month-end journal entries, including revenue, prepaids, depreciation, and accruals.
- Prepare various account reconciliations and financial reports, and analyze balance sheet accounts.
- Process bi-weekly payroll and coordinate with HR to maintain payroll employee changes such as W-4 forms, direct deposits, 401(k) contributions, and garnishments.
- Collaborate with facility administrators to review and approve timeclock entries.
- Submit 401(k), HSA, and FSA funding, and maintain payroll accounting by calculating and entering bi-weekly payroll, benefits accrual, PTO accrual, and month-end payroll accrual journal entries into Microsoft Great Plains.
- Oversee treasury management tasks and assist the Director of Accounting with processing transfers related to payroll, intercompany transactions, management fees, and other items.
- Post cash transactions in Microsoft Great Plains and perform monthly bank reconciliations.
- Provide support to the Accounts Payable department with some accounts payable processing.
- Handle additional reconciliations, reports, calculations, and special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in a similar role, with experience working with multiple locations and legal entities considered a plus.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Great Plains and Management Reporter is advantageous, and experience with ExponentHR is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently while following directions.
- Capability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel, Adobe, and PowerPoint, and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
