Major Japanese Medical Device Manufacturer

Responsibilities:

  • Understand client requirements
  • Design & development of embedded software application including GUI for medical devices.
  • Verification and validation of developed software.
  • Communication and security requirements analysis, specification creation
  • Design and verification of CPU and middleware software
  • Adhere regulatory standards and guidelines for medical product development

The ideal candidate will have a combination of technical expertise, analytical skills, and attention to detail, as well as strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.

Requirements (Must Have):

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field with bilingual capability (Japanese and English)
  • 3+ Years of Embedded software development experience in medical domain.
  • Strong knowledge of Embedded C and have good analytical skills.
  • Experience in embedded software design and development using OS/RTOS on MCU/SoCs.
  • Experience in embedded GUI development.
  • Good at designing system architecture, implementation, unit testing, verification and validation.
  • Experience in developing embedded software for sensor control and motor control.
  • In-depth understanding of different communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, USB etc.
  • Good understanding of OS concepts, multithread applications, IPC mechanisms, scheduling and memory management
  • Basic knowledge of Hardware with respect to board bring-up and diagnostics.
  • Experience with hardware debugging tools and interface like JTAG, SWD.
  • Good interpersonal communication (both Japanese and English) skills and experience in collaborating with the team.
  • Client handling and coordination with offshore development team
  • Providing technical guidance to the development team, mentoring and guiding engineers, and being a role model for technical excellence.

Good to Have:

  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and guidelines for medical product development (IEC 62304, IEC62366, IEC 60601-1-6, ISO 14971)
  • Prior experience as bridge engineer between onsite and offshore.


Language Skill:

  • Japanese ability - Business level / JLPT N2 or above (Reading & Writing)
  • English Business level (Good communication and presentation skills required)
