The Role
This role will see you lead the design and execution of cutting-edge water and wastewater treatment systems. You will be responsible to drive process design from concept to commissioning, oversee design management plans, guide multidisciplinary teams, and interface directly with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
You'll also support procurement, risk mitigation, and commissioning, playing a key role in the success of high-value infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities

Lead development of process designs (PFDs, P&IDs, hydraulic calculations, etc.) for major water infrastructure

Oversee project design execution, from planning and coordination to final delivery

Conduct HAZOP, Safety in Design, and Value Engineering reviews

Mentor engineers, supervise subcontractors, and manage internal/external design reviews

Support procurement with technical specs, vendor assessments, and process guarantees

Contribute to commissioning plans, training materials, and post-delivery documentation

Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and quality systems
Requirements

Degree in Chemical Engineering (or similar)

10+ years in process design and commissioning of large-scale water/wastewater projects

Strong understanding of water treatment plant operations and design standards

Proficient in PFDs, P&IDs, hydraulic modelling, and process risk management

Effective communicator and team leader, capable of liaising with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders

Willingness to travel locally as required
Desirable
-
Chartered Engineer status (or eligibility)

Knowledge of AutoCAD, process simulation, and project management software
-
Adaptability and interest in innovation and sustainability in engineering
