Our client is a market-leading infrastructure contractor delivering high-profile energy and pipeline projects across Australia and the Asia Pacific region. With a reputation for engineering excellence and safe delivery in complex environments, they operate at the forefront of civil and mechanical construction.

Their Brisbane-based team is expanding, and they're now looking to train and develop the next generation of estimators, starting with a strong Project Engineer ready to pivot into pre-contracts and commercial leadership.

The Role

This is a rare opportunity to shift your engineering career toward pre-contracts. Based in the Brisbane CBD, you'll join the in-house estimating team and receive tailored, hands-on training in company systems and processes.

You will apply your on-site knowledge of pipeline construction to support bids and tenders for some of the regions most significant infrastructure projects. Over time, you will grow into a Senior Estimator role, contributing to major project wins across Australia and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and evaluate BOQs and cost estimates for strategic pipeline and civil infrastructure tenders
• Analyse contract documents and identify risks, opportunities, and savings
• Contribute to bid submissions and tender documentation
• Draft and track project execution schedules and identify potential delays
• Conduct supplier, subcontractor, and material enquiries with price evaluations
• Develop strong working relationships with JV partners, vendors, and clients
• Report on findings and support pre-contracts decisions with commercial insights

Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent
• 5+ years' experience as a Project or Site Engineer on pipeline construction projects
• Solid understanding of construction methodologies and contracts
• Strong constructability insight and ability to scope and interpret works for bid
• Effective at engaging suppliers and subcontractors to drive pricing and participation
• Risk-aware and structured in managing deadlines and deliverables
• Excellent verbal and written communication, with sharp attention to detail
