This international construction leader is part of a global group delivering major rail, water, energy, and tunnelling projects across Australia. Known for their technical excellence and ability to execute large, multidisciplinary contracts, they are involved in some of the most iconic joint ventures in the country. With hundreds of professionals in Australia and the backing of one of the worlds largest construction groups, they combine local know-how with international best practice.

The Role

This is a pivotal coordination role interfacing between design and construction teams across civil, architectural, MEP, and structural disciplines. Youll drive constructability reviews, manage temporary works designs, supervise shop drawings, and coordinate as-built documentation. You'll also play a lead role in Safety in Design processes and facilitate key interactions across JV partners, subcontractors, and in-house delivery teams.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate design development with construction requirements across all disciplines
  • Participate in both design and construction progress meetings
  • Review design deliverables for constructability and quality
  • Manage temporary works design and delegate site inspections
  • Supervise and review production of shop drawings
  • Centralise field change requests and manage as-built documentation
  • Lead Safety in Design initiatives and contribute to Zero Harm culture
  • Ensure quality, compliance, and PMM processes are upheld across delivery


    • Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Min. 5 years' experience in design coordination or similar roles on infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of design development and construction interfaces
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
  • Skilled in drawing and document review, temporary works, and design change management
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills, with resilience under pressure
  • Proficiency in document management systems such as SharePoint
