About the Opportunity

Reclatam is recruiting on behalf of a well-established California immigration law firm seeking an experienced Arabic-speaking Legal Assistant to support its immigration practice. This role is ideal for a professional with substantial hands-on experience in immigration court proceedings and asylum cases who can contribute immediately with minimal training.

The successful candidate must have a deep understanding of immigration court processes and be capable of independently managing all aspects of asylum case preparation and filing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, organize, and manage asylum applications from intake through final submission.
  • Draft and review asylum declarations, affidavits, and supporting documentation.
  • Conduct country conditions research and compile evidence packages.
  • Prepare filings for Immigration Court and USCIS, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines.
  • Assist attorneys with case strategy, hearing preparation, and client communications.
  • Maintain case files and track important court and filing deadlines.
  • Coordinate document collection, translations, and supporting evidence.
  • Prepare clients for interviews, hearings, and other immigration-related proceedings.
  • Manage correspondence with courts, government agencies, and clients as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal supporting U.S. immigration law matters.
  • Extensive experience with Immigration Court procedures and filings.
  • Strong hands-on experience with asylum cases, including:
    • Asylum applications
    • Client declarations and affidavits
    • Country conditions research
    • USCIS asylum filings
    • Immigration Court filings
    • Hearing preparation and case management
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written communication and document preparation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working remotely with U.S.-based law firms.
  • Familiarity with immigration case management software.
  • Experience supporting attorneys in high-volume immigration practices.

What We're Looking For

This is not an entry-level position. We are seeking a candidate who is already highly knowledgeable in immigration court and asylum matters and can immediately contribute to active casework. The ideal candidate understands the full lifecycle of asylum cases and requires little to no training.
